Finally, when you are finished the calibration, or just finished for the day, you can simply unplug the laptop, and the ECM will continue to function normally with your modified calibration indefinitely. Disconnecting the ECM will not affect the calibration, but will clear any self learning and any trouble codes as per normal. You can plug laptop back in anytime and make more changes. An option, if you wish, is to save your calibration and burn it onto an eprom, and then install in memcal. To do this you also will need a Kalmaker PAL in order for the Kalmaker calibration to function. This allows many cars to be tuned with one Real Time ECM, and then use the saved calibrations (with PAL) in standard ecm's. You can also install other Real Time ecm's in other cars. It may cost more, but you don't have to bother with burning chips.
