VY rev limit

Postby taztassio » Sun May 01, 2011 10:52 pm

Hey,

I am looking to get my car tuned using w91, but I have been told kalmaker for w91 has a 6400rpm rev limit. Is that true? If so, what reasons are there for this and what remedies are tehre to make the limit higher? I have a cam that likes to spin pretty hard.

Thanks in advance for your replies :)

Not 100% sure on workshop, but the rev limit is adjustable in SP3 (Up to 9999 RPM).. I would assume workshop would be the same, the standard for W91 may be 6400..

One thing to be aware of, the rev limit doesn't only protect the valve train system, Your rods cop a fair beating under higher revs, I dont recommend running higher revs unless youve done work to the rods to handle this.

Anyone with workshop able to shed some light on this?

Thanks for the reply though Derek :)

Hey Taz in workshop W91 (VY L67 MAF) the rev limit is 6400rpm.
The W95 and W96 2 and 3 bar software will allow you to go to 8000rpm.

If you wanted to go past 8000RPM you would have to change to an earlier ECU and run Street Pro 3 which goes to 9600RPM.
