Questions regarding DFCO WB5

Postby VY l67 » Sat Jan 19, 2013 12:23 pm

Hey.

Just trying to get the DFCO working on on my VY l67, and wondering if anyone else is having / had issues with and can provide any tips.
The car is running a 2 bar mafless tune WB5.

I believe that i have the all the settins set correct, I have tried different settings in the vac for the enter and exit. the temp is set and the speed is set to 15mph.
I have quite a long down hill section on road near me that i can use to test the car on and i can see in the log that the car will reach the desired vac set point, road speed and engin temp. also the delay time for the DFCO to cut in should also fine as its set to 1 sec.

Any help would be great.

Regards

The Decel Fuel Cut Out is used for added braking and probably emissions
Most guys find that once you have changed exhaust (louder) it becomes much more noticeable and annoying
Its not as noticeable in (auto) 4th gear O/D, but in 3rd it can be a pain, and many disable it by raising the DFCO:CLT to max
Are you having trouble with it being on or off?
I havent really played with it in a manual trans, and it maybe possible that it isnt activated in one of the VAR:Options
Are you using std diff ratio? as this will effect NVR speeds ie ECU works out what VSS is and rpm is, and so calculates what gear you are in,
so VAR:MPH:FAC must suit diff ratio
Hope this helps

Hey Hooter

Thanks for the reply, Im trying to get the fuel cut to work.
I have changed the diff from the factory fitted 3.08 open center to a 3.07 lsd and now a 3.46 lsd

With either the 3.07 and the 3.46 diff the fuel cut has not worked, however the 3.07 diff worked fine with the factory tune before i changed the motor from the non supercharged motor to the supercharged motor. Im still running the flash based PCM that was from the non supercharged motor.

The speed is set to 15 mph and i can see in the log that the car is getting well above that and still wont cut in, the CLt is 59 degs.
I wouldnt have thought that the diff would not cause an issue as the log shows the car well above that anyway. Or is this not the case???

Do you have anyother ideas or need to know any other setting which migh help shed some light on this ?????

Regards VY l67

Hi Hooter

I have made changes to take into account for the new diff.

The changes have been made in the fowling locations.
PTN:MTX:N2VRAT
and
PTN:MTX:N2VERR

Im still unable to get it to cut in and i cant see where it might be set off as it all looks to be enabled.

Unfortunately most members use SP3 not Workshop. Workshop is specialist software because each version suits 1 model while SP3 can work on many models. Your best bet is Hooter or Derek.
If you need help with anything Kalmaker related (that includes things like ECU, program, injector, wiring etc) ask on the forum so everyone can help or learn.

Thanks stormtrooper.

I have emailed Hooter and when get this sorted ill post up what it was was incase someone else has this problem. This problem has got me it looks like it should be working but its just not.

It was working fine untill the new motor went in and i started running kalmaker so im sure its something in the tune thats causing it not to kick in.
Its the same computer and loom just running kalmaker and extended the loom where needed to reach sensors in different locations.

Realy want to get this sorted before anything else is dont to the car.
